The Learning Tower fosters self-confidence and independence
The Learning Tower fosters self-confidence in kids.
How?
Kids become self-confident by DOING things. You can’t make your kid feel good about their abilities just by talking to them. (It can help, and it’s certainly better than talking down to them…) True confidence comes from doing things for yourself, from interacting with the world and making things happen.
Think about what it’s like for a kid. All day long they’re having to ask you for things. A glass of water. Something to eat. The crayons. Another piece of paper.
And here comes the Learning Tower and they can climb up into it and get what they need ALL BY THEMSELVES. A glass of water. Healthy snack.
What’s more, they can now participate in family activities and make a positive contribution to the work of the family. Every day they see you preparing food, washing the dishes, putting things away. These are meaningful adult activities. And while it’s great to play at these (we’re big fans of well-made play kitchens), it’s even better to really do them. Think of the boost a kid can get from knowing they helped make dinner!
Independence is another great benefit of the Learning Tower. With it, kids can serve themselves all those things you’re so tired of getting for them. They can reach into higher cabinets, get to food preparation space, and reach the sink. Of course with great power comes great responsibility. You’ll have to make sure the knives are put away and any breakables are farther out of reach.
